Antony Kahn is a Consultant at Taussig Cherrie Fildes. He is an Accredited Family Law Specialist (LIV) who practises exclusively in the area of family law. Antony has worked at Taussig Cherrie Fildes since 2010 and he was previously a Principal of the firm.
Antony hails from Auckland, New Zealand, where he undertook his tertiary studies. After he arrived in Melbourne, Antony obtained his Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne.
Antony’s family law expertise has been recognised by his inclusion in the 2023 and 2024 Editions of the Best Lawyers in Australia for Family Law.
As a result of his extensive experience in financial matters and the commercial aspects of family law, Antony is regularly engaged in matters involving complex corporate and trust structures, as well as protecting third party interests.
Recognising the important and deeply personal nature of family law, Antony applies emotional intelligence as well as intellectual rigour to advancing and resolving his clients’ matters. He is able to articulate complex legal and financial concepts in a clear and concise manner. Antony is committed to achieving advantageous, commercial and cost-effective outcomes for his clients.
Antony conducts trials and appeals in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. He was involved in a leading case, both at first instance and on appeal, as to what constitutes a de facto relationship for the purposes of the Family Law Act 1975.
